African-American
The term “African-American” seems to beautifully illustrate my point that Political Correctness is the polar opposite of Common Sense. I’ve seen examples where blacks in France were referred to as “African-Americans” by someone trying to be politically correct. Imagine that, referring to a person with a hyphenated term that describes two lands, neither of which is the homeland of the object of PC-idiocy.
In fact, the Democrat Party’s recent convention can help me illustrate my point just as much. Take a look at these two prime-time speakers at the DNC convention:

…and ask yourself which one of these is most likely to be called an “African-American” in America today.
If your mind has been warped by the PC stupidity, you probably said the one on the left, Al Sharpton, born and raised in New York. You’d probably never refer to the one on the right, Teresa Heinz Kerry, as an “African-American” woman, despite the fact she was born in Mozambique…. AFRICA.
Now ask yourself if that makes any damn sense at all.
