REAL Democrats lie through their teeth for votes…
It’s obvious the damage Zell Miller did to his party this week when he spoke to the Republican National Convention. Not just based on today’s poll numbers showing George W. Bush has opened a double digit lead on his opponent. But look at what the Democrats in Georgia have resorted to in an effort to raise money for their campaign….
The Democratic Party of Georgia has released a web video called, “It’s Zell Miller Who Just Doesn’t Get It”. At first glance, it sure looks like they’ve caught ol’ Zell flip flopping like their hero.
They’ve got some video clip of Zell Miller saying over and over, “George Bush doesn’t get it!” The intro says, “THEN”
….and just as you’re getting into the rhythm of the “George Bush does not get it” repetition, the title switches to “NOW”… and the quote plastered on the video says, “I am for President George W. Bush because he is the right man in the right place at the right time.”
Wow. Pretty stinging response to Zell’s convention speech, huh? Great job of proving he’s a flip flopper, right?
Wrong. The video they use for the “THEN” segment is Zell’s speech at the 1992 Democratic National Convention. (see the very hard to read footnote at the bottom of the video) The “George Bush” he’s speaking about then was George H.W. Bush, the father of the current President.
They’ve attempted to paint Zell as some raving lunatic for spewing opposition against George Bush then, and casting praise upon him now. They want you to think the entire clip is referring to the same George Bush. But’s it’s all a complete and total lie.
Has it really gotten that bad on the Left?
