WASHINGTON, D.C. - Osama bin Laden was found Thursday after hiding in the same location for more than a year. Osama bin Laden, 58, was the most wanted man on the list issued by US authorities but had not been seen since the raid on Tora Bora.
A US military spokesman, Major-General Jose le Engaado, said the operation - involving various combined US units - was launched within 24 hours of receiving a tip-off from a member of al Qaeda. “Over the last 10 days we brought in about five to 10 members of his family, and finally got the ultimate information from one of these individuals”, he said.
When asked how he managed to elude American forces, bin Laden responded, “It’s not terribly difficult when you have allies like mine.” bin Laden did admit his hideout had become a bit stuffy over the last several months and he complained of excessive sweating and a musky odor. He says, however, that despite masterminding the world’s largest terror exercises, he’s happy to finally leave his hideout for a refreshing and well-needed shower.
One can only imagine what that hideout must’ve been like…
Photos released by the US military showed a dishevelled-looking Osama with a turbin and salt-and-pepper beard.
