From the Houston Barnicle:
Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle, who denies partisan motives for his investigation of a political group founded by Republican leader Tom DeLay, was the featured speaker last week at a Democratic fund-raiser where he spoke directly about the congressman. … Earle said Wednesday he knew the group that met in Dallas was raising money for Democrats…
And the Left still calls him “non-partisan“. Is anyone else not surprised?
Earle commented on the pending investigation witchhunt during the Democrat fundraiser saying, “This case is not just about Tom DeLay. If it isn’t this Tom DeLay, it’ll be another one, just like one bully replaces the one before. This is a structural problem involving the combination of money and power. Money brings power and power corrupts.” His speech helped raise $102,000 for Democrats.
Earle admits the pending investigation witchhunt isn’t about Tom Delay, but rather taking down Republicans and getting Democrats elected. Not only is it an abuse of prosecutorial ethics to call the target of a pending investigation witchhunt inflammatory names, but the appearance of political bias and impropriety seems to be reaffirmed by Earle’s participation in Democrat fundraising… especially during the pending investigation witchhunt.
Do you doubt for a second that if the political roles were reversed, we’d be seeing marches and mass protests on the Capitol steps?
Me neither.

Mark says it’s time Republicans dropped the gloves and started fighting back. I agree.
