President Bush appointed John Bolton to be the United Nations Ambassador this morning under authority from Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution:
The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.
Kennedy responded, calling it, “the latest abuse of power by the Bush White House.”
So… Recess appointments are specifically laid out in the Constitution in clear and plain language and Kennedy says acting on it is an abuse.
Yet, abortion-on-demand is nowhere to be found, either specifically or generally contemplated in the Constitution… and he somehow doesn’t find it ironic to wholeheartedly support the courts’ ability to make it up as if it did exist therein.
Ahhh, liberalism.
