We Shall Overcome

From the AP:

Texas has become the fourth state to have a non-white majority population, the U.S. Census Bureau said Thursday, a trend driven by a surging number of Hispanics moving to the state.

I’m anxious to see what gimmies I’m gonna start getting as a minority in Texas. The American Association for Affirmative Action is seeking “more minorities to apply for available scholarships“. Maybe I will go get a third degree… this time on the house…

I can now get preferential treatment in hiring through quotas and call it “diversity”.

For federal contractors and subcontractors, affirmative action must be taken by covered employers to recruit and advance qualified minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and covered veterans.

I can now get preferential treatment in college admissions through arbitrary bonus points:

… Grutter v. Bollinger and Gratz v. Bollinger, two Supreme Court cases that upheld the right of universities to consider race as a factor for admission… The two Supreme Court cases dealt with the admissions policy of the University of Michigan, in which students were granted points based on their minority status.

Based on their stated “focus”, it appears the NAACP will start advocating my cause as well:

The primary focus of the NAACP continues to be the protection and enhancement of the civil rights of African Americans and other minorities.

I feel the need to march.
