Democrats have been pointing to the disaster in New Orleans as “evidence” of a great divide in American culture, whether it be racial, economic or political. But there are a couple of other things that have been exposed in the tragedy on the Gulf.
If it were election day
, you can bet the Democrat leaders of New Orleans would’ve had no problem finding drivers for the 2,000+ buses
for their “get out the vote” campaigns.
Oct. 17, 2000 - Many of the nation’s big-city mayors are also lending a hand, such as New Orleans’ Morial, who plans to field a fleet of yellow school buses to ferry black voters to the polls on election day.
Also, my mom sent me video of a K-EYE news segment (on vhs, I’ll upload it when I can)
that showed evacuees from New Orleans showing up at a welfare office in Austin, Texas seeking continuance of their entitlements. Now if the “poor” people can make their way to another state and find the welfare office that quickly, why can’t those same people make their way to a state office to get an ID to vote
Yeah, Katrina exposed some things, alright…
