You see, the Democrats are launching another offensive on the state of pre-war intelligence and again accusing the Bush administration of lying, manipulating and deceiving the public to get into a pre-concocted war.
The Robb-Silberman Commission On The Intelligence Capabilities Of The United States Regarding Weapons Of Mass Destruction “found no evidence of political pressure to influence the Intelligence Community’s pre-war assessments of Iraq’s weapons programs”
The Bipartisan Senate Select Committee Report On The U.S. Intelligence Community’s Prewar Intelligence Assessments On Iraq “did not find any evidence that Administration officials attempted to coerce, influence or pressure analysts to change their judgments related to Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction capabilities”
The British Butler Report, Review Of Intelligence On Weapons Of Mass Destruction “found no evidence of deliberate distortion or of culpable negligence” and “found no evidence of JIC assessments and the judgements inside them being pulled in any particular direction to meet the policy concerns of senior officials on the JIC”
Matt posted excerpts of the relevant portions.
And apparently the soon-to-be-released report of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence “found no manipulation” either. So how long after the release of that report will Democrats be calling for another… and another… and another?
And do any of these Democrats claiming bad intelligence remember their own positions just a few short years ago? Afterall, they controlled the intelligence community back then and found the same “threats”.
So much for being the “progressive” party. Rob calls it a “political stunt“. Seems all they want to do is repeat the same failures over and over and over…
