The headline reads, “Report: Hispanics lagging in education,” and the story goes on to blame the problem on “white voters” not “investing in the education of another group” and rehashing the debate on the rights of illegals. Weird, last time I looked, “whites” were paying a fair share of taxes while our government offered tuition breaks for illegals. So where’s the problem?
Then, buried down in the third paragraph is this little revelation:
Although a growing number of Hispanics have reached the middle class, the report says they continue to lag economically as a group because of a continued influx of low-skilled immigrants.
So a growing number have reached the middle class (success) but the statistics are being skewed downward by an “influx” of low-skilled immigrants (illegals).
I’m willing to bet if a Democrat were President, the headline would declare, “Report: More Hispanics Reach Middle Class”.
