The coward, fond of beheading innocent civilians and hiding like a cockroach when the lights turn on, is now dead, dead, dead.

What a great way to start your day.
Now how long before we hear liberals “question the timing of this”?
Update: That didn’t take long. Liberals are already clamoring to blame this news on:
1. Timing for neocon strategy to attack Iran.
2. Timing to distract from Haditha story.
3. He was just a “Pentagon creation” all along.
But he certainly can’t be a beheading-loving, islamonutjob, terrorist that slaughtered innocent civilians and killed brave troops that has now, thanks to the finest and bravest men and women in the world, gone to take his place in hell. Not to these idiots, anyway.
Update 2: Some liberals are actually sad about the news of Zarqawi’s death.
“I have no sense of relief, just sadness that another human being had to die.” - [Michael Berg, the father of a man beheaded by Zarqawi himself]
Unbelievable.
Update 3: In case you thought the sentiments above represented only a “fringe” element of the Left, look at what some elected Democrats in Washington are saying:
…the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in Iraq was a stunt to divert attention from an unpopular and hopeless war…

I told Jonathan, over at “Crush Liberalism”, that this is how the military aides diplomacy. Al Zarqawi want to see Allah and begin engaging his 72 virgins and we were able to facilitate that meeting. Diplomacy at its finest!
Al Zarqawi is screwed all right, but there will be no virgins involved; Satan just isn’t that accomodating. A fitting outcome for scum like him! OBL, you may be next… got your seat in Hell picked out yet?

Well, strictly speaking, the demons assigned to Zarqawi could in fact be virgins…though I doubt they are exactly what Zarq had in mind.

Initial reports indicated that “residents” gave Zarqawi up. Strategy page conjectured a few days ago that if Zarqawi died it would mean al-Qaida had tired of his antics. Either way, this is big.

[…] Note the UK press is as bad as the US press in insisting on slathering as many negatives as possible into a positive news story. Ah, well. On the other side… Dr Sanity notes that for some in the blogosphere no good news is ever really good because America, Bush and the soldiers suck, and stuff. John Stephenson notes that the father of Nicholas Berg is unhappy, and reminds that Berg was prospecting commercial work at the time of his horrible death. “Bush’s idea of justice is bombs falling out of the sky?”
“Why is he dead again just now? I wonder if Karl’s getting indicted tomorrow…”
“Those pics of Abu Z look like they just thawed him out just in time for the elections.”
“Zarqawi was quite probably a psy ops job in the first place, so what does that make his “death”? …Keep your eyes on the prize….Haditha.”
“Just in time to hide the fact they’re trying to cut the estate tax for the uber wealthy”
“Yes the timing of Zarqawi’s death does seem too good for Bush to be true. It reeks of distraction politics. ”

I’m in favor of him being dead!
But we need to remember that these Islamic terrorist organizations are only weakly hierarchical, and are driven by religious fervor rather than the charisma of a single leader, so don’t expect all terrorism to come to an end.
