As the wife of a soldier who has served two tours in Iraq fighting for this Country's freedom, what does that freedom mean if people like this "photo-journalist" are leading the terrorists? Okay, a bit extreme, but think about it. The journalist probably knew exactly where the terrorist would have been ... could have saved American lives, instead of standing there watching them be killed - yes, that is essentially what was done ... he stood there and watched American soldiers be killed. Now, I'm also a photo-journalist and could also never consider holding such a position, yes ... it would be interesting, but ... I would sooner pick up a gun myself and shoot at the terrorists than hope for a Pulitzer because I watched while a terrorist shoot at American soldiers.

Whose side is the NY Times taking anyway?

Little Green Footballs (via Ace of Spades HQ) finds a photographer for the NY Times, Joao Silva, in a very suspicious position - he took pics while a terrorist fired on US troops in Iraq

Unfortunately, this isn't even their most eggregious affront of the day. A case can be made for covering the forward position in a war (at least, if it weren't in order to get our men killed). The Editorial for 7/16 totally dicounts the war on terror as a personal power-grab for the President. I wrote them this:

---

You guys have totally jumped off into Area 51 territory now! I voted against the Democrat pres candidate in 2000 and 2004 (as I probably always will), and even I don't believe anyone in the administration is clever enough to come up with that kind of plan.

If you don't get your dicks out of each other's mouths soon, and realize the enemy is Islamofascism (not Dumbya), you may lose your paper- your freedom- or your life.
When you write this stuff, it's not just tofu for the moonbats- it aids and abets our real enemies. Go drink a big cup of shut the hell up, and get back to me when you wake up from your hasish party tomorrow afternoon.

Best

I run a gas station- I have a news stand. My news stand no longer carries the NY Times nor their sock-puppet, the Boston Globe. I encourage other owners to do the same.

What exactly defines courage in this example Mizz McNally? You freely disregard the lives of your own country's servicemen for the sake of publishing a good picture, but would you vilify them if they defended themselves and accidentally killed the human embodiment of your disregard?

Just something I'd like to know....
