In Chicago on business and I saw this story on the local news.
CHICAGO Immigration officials and a Chicago church have an unusual situation on their hands. An activist for illegal aliens is seeking sanctuary in the church, hoping to avoid deportation to Mexico.
I like how they paint the convicted fugitive as “an activist for illegal aliens”… that’s like saying Scott Peterson is “an activist for domestic violence”. She’s a criminal who’s representing others breaking the same laws.
Ironically, liberals are finally stepping up to support the church. “Take down that cross, the Ten Commandments and hide the bible… but you better not try to remove this criminal from our sanctuary!”
There are a few other big issues I have with this case.
First, this:
Elvira Arellano (ah-ray-YAH’-no) says she doesn’t want to be separated from her seven-year-old son, who she says is a U-S citizen.
She’s using the old anchor baby issue to claim her right to be here. Sorry, Elvira, but while he may be legal, you’re still not.
Next:
Arellano has already been deported once for illegally entering the country.
Repeat offender. This just proves our border security sucks… and she’s made it abundantly clear that she has no intention of complying with our system of laws.
She says she was back within days and lived for two years in Chicago, working as an airport cleaner, before being arrested. She was convicted of using a false Social Security number.
An illegal alien, convicted of using false documents is working inside our airports??? No threat there. Nope, nothing to see, move along.
And finally…
The feds, however, have another word to describe her: fugitive. And they say living in a church doesn’t protect her from arrest and deportation.
Then where the hell are they?
The fugitive activist is called “the voice of the undocumented”…. yeah, and John Gotti was “the voice of the spaghetti-loving, loan consultants”.
As her backers offered hugs and kind words, Arellano said she is prepared to pay the consequences of defying the U.S. government.
Catch, release, return. Catch, release, return. Sounds like a heavy price to pay for the “consequences of defying the U.S. government”. Laughable. Hell, I bet she even finds someone in government willing to reimburse her for her travel fees when she illegally returns to the U.S. I hear there may be some more FEMA dollars laying around somewhere.
