From KIRO-TV (hat tip: Michelle):
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is searching for five people who allegedly attacked a uniformed National Guardsmen walking along 138th Street in Parkland Tuesday afternoon.
The soldier was walking to a convenience store when a sport utility vehicle pulled up alongside him and the driver asked if he was in the military and if he had been in any action.
The driver then got out of the vehicle, displayed a gun and shouted insults at the victim. Four other suspects exited the vehicle and knocked the soldier down, punching and kicking him.
“And during the assault the suspects called him a baby killer. At that point they got into the car and drove off and left him on the side of the road,” Detective Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.
Such a peaceful anti-war troop movement, isn’t it?
They just can’t bring themselves to admit the truth… they hate the troops. Period.

Slander much?

Modern anti war activists seem to think that spitting on soldiers is for wimps

The only thing more pathetic than five anti-war assholes jumping a single soldier is Baghwan’s comment.

How so?
Comment by Baghwan — 8:53 am
Give me a break. Over 60% of Americans now oppose this war. Do you think that over 60% of Americans jump the soldiers they run into?
This would be akin to me saying that all pro-lifers are just like to bomb abortion clinics just like Eric Rudolph.

“This would be akin to me saying that all pro-lifers are just like to bomb abortion clinics just like Eric Rudolph.”
No, because real “pro-lifers” oppose the taking of innocent life, so Rudolph wasn’t actually a “pro-lifer” if his mission was to take innocent life. Thus, a reasonable person can distinguish between his actions and the pro-life movement.
However, there’s no real clear line drawn between the anti-war movement and those who oppose the troops carrying out the war. Sayin’ ain’t doin’. The anti-war movement involves multiple violent protests carried out on a regular basis, signs wrongly accusing soldiers of atrocities or calling for their deaths, and the active (and cowardly) ambushing of soldiers on a city street simply because he’s wearing a uniform…
And you cite MSM polls as if they’re gospel. That, alone, ruins the credibility of your comment at the outset.

Baghwan, in the real world it is not slanderous to refer to the words and actions of those who say and do! Your diversionary tactic infers defense of these AH’s and that is what is pathetic.
Forrest, the comment made by one of those AH’s ID’d them as anti-war, not their pathetic actions. Iit is pretty plain to see that the “baby killer” rhetoric and “We support our troops when the shoot their officers” spurns violence. Nice “peace” movement slogans.
Your attempt to correlate pro-life and the violence of Rudolph was really a stretch with a healthy dose of irony to boot. (Those who want to save lives by being anti-war are perfectly fine in taking lives in abortion clinics.)

I fail to see how my opposition to the war means I hate the troops. That is why I think the author of this blog entry is slandering the anti-war movement, based on the actions of a few bigots.

Judith, was that in reference to me? If so, it is uncalled for.

Wrong. Rudolph’s views were that doctors performing abortions were not innocent, nor were the women having the procedure performed. In the case of those jumping the soldier, they likely didn’t believe he was innocent either.
Jason, you completely ignored my point that you are attempting to paint the extremists of a given movement as the mainstream of that movement. If you still want a better analogy, try this one: All conservatives are like Ann Coulter, who said: “My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.”
It would be idiotic to believe that all conservatives are like that. Its just as idiotic to believe that all those in the anti-war movement espouse attacks on American soldiers.
Comment by Forrest — 12:40 am
Forrest, if I was to follow your logic, pro-lifers would oppose the act of abortion, but still support the doctors while they perform them.

“In the case of those jumping the soldier, they likely didn’t believe he was innocent either.”
Forrest, that is a justifying comment; an exoneration of sorts. I find such thetoric to be extremely offensive. And no one cares about your beef with pro-lifers.
Comment by Old Soldier — 12:55 pm
John, I am in no way exonerating them. What they did was terrible and they ought to be locked up for years. It is actually a hate crime of sorts, in my view. But here you go once again twisting my statement. Its pathetic how often you feel the need to do this. Be realistic for once: why would they have attacked this soldier otherwise?
And I bring up pro-lifers not because of my “beef” with them, but to show how stupid it is to portray the extremists as the mainstream.
Your inability to actually respond to valid points is astounding.

[…] I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. They just can’t bring themselves to admit the truth… they hate the troops. But this time, Bruce “The Bouncer” Wolf makes it clear that I am persona non grata. […]
