Air America declares bankruptcy. It’s a fitting end, considering those affiliated with the failed venture were morally and intellectually bankrupt to begin with.

But don’t worry, liberals, there’s always spin.

The right wing is sure to seize on Air America’s financial woes as a sign that progressive talk radio is unpopular.

So are you suggesting that the bankrupcty proves its popularity?

In fact, Air America succeeded at creating something that didn’t exist: the progressive talk radio format.

Oh, but it did exist. It’s called CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN…

Of course, they were saying the same thing when it launched.

Walsh said the goal was to provide a liberal voice that has been missing on the airwaves and to present it in such as way as “to make you laugh. You will giggle when you listen although we will be tackling serious subjects.”

Wow, it works. I’m laughing right this very minute.

“We’re not regime change radio,” Walsh said. “We do want to make a buck. We expect to go profitable in year three.”

Looks like another failed prediction. Or were the planned profits to come from the shady business deals?

“The fact is that we’re not seeing media buyers say ’screw you, we buy Rush.’ There’s an openness in media buyers.”

I guess now they’re saying ’screw you’.

“I think what you’ll see in a short time, is that we will close deals with traditional consumer goods companies,” said Walsh. “Liberals buy beer, they drive trucks, they take vacations, they have arthritis. We’re also consumers.”

They also kill babies, raise taxes, hate the military, side with terrorists. But that doesn’t really help their failed venture either.

Stay tuned. Coming up next, the O’Bankruptcy Factor.

Update: Welcome Dailykos readers. I like how the DK post is written by someone looking for the appropriate talking points to use in reaction to the Air America bankruptcy. I guess thinking for one’s self is too much to ask. But hey, I’m glad to see the warden is allowing you to surf the web today.

  2. Did you also notice that the NYT is having to sell their broadcast subsidiary? They pitch it as rationalizing their business, the truth is different though, they are having trouble selling their political bias on TV and need cash.

This is more evidence that the mediocre MSM is out of touch with what american values are and how we think, and that they are losing their influence.

Man, it’s got to suck to know you have to wait two very looooooong years… only to watch your hopes shattered yet again for what will that be… the fifth time in a row? Ouch.

  6. I see the lizards at the lgf trashed the blog. Such anger from the right wingnuts. They say the left is angry but those folks take the cake.

I don’t listen to talk radio. Maybe if they listen to music instead of the drugged out idiot Rush, there would not be so angry.

Anyhoo, the failed neocon plan in the Middle East is a huge disaster and folks should demand accountability. The world is waiting.

  7. “…the failed neocon plan in the Middle East is a huge disaster and folks should demand accountability. The world is waiting.”

We’ve demanding accountability from the likes of Murtha, Reid, Kennedy, Pelosi, Durbin and they continue to subvert our efforts to conclude the war in Iraq… we’re still waiting, too.

  8. Typical right wing koolaid drinker blames Democrats for the bu$hies failure in Iraq. If anybody subverted victory in Iraq it was Rumdummy and his “lightweight, undersized army”. He brought a toothpick when what he needed was a 2X4.

Not only that, he let bin Laden get away. The cross-mountain highway from Afghanistan to Pakistan was left wide open for al Qaeda to stream through.

Face it Old Soldier, your boys blew it badly.

  10. Ah,who let Bin Laden get away? Someone who was busy with his cigar in the Oval office.

  11. Who let OBL get away? Let’s see, I seem to recall some Arkansas trailer trash admitting as much, and I seem to recall some video of OBL in a drone’s sights but the order coming from said trailer trash’s office to NOT attack. Both instances before the election of 2000.

Damn…sure wish I could remember who that was. Maybe it was Bu$hitler Rove McRummyburton! :-D

The kool-aid must be delish at the Kos kooks’ playhouse.
