That headline disappeared the second the U.S. decided to fight back. This is a new concept to the post-Napoleonic French. I believe the national bird of France ought to be the ostrich. Head buried in the sand and rear end in the air ready for...never mind. (Yes, I know ostriches don't really bury their heads in sand.)

OK, I voted for Bush in 2000, but not in '04 because he is NOT a conservative. So, aside from the silliness in Chavez' speech, what else do you disagree with? Just what are we, a Christian democracy, "the city on the hill," doing throwing our weight around, getting into a pitiful war on a pack of lies, alienating the rest of the world, which has always looked to us because of our inherent decency and championing of freedom? Remember the headline in Le Monde of Paris on 9/12? "Today we are all Americans!" Where has that good will gone? Bush has allowed his administration to be hi-jacked by a bunch of neo-con criminals who have an agenda which does not put the U.S. first. Let's wake up as conservatives and realize that we've been led down the primrose path and stop all this macho bullshit about "We're number one," "they hate our freedoms," etc. Otherwise we're going to wake up one day and find millions of our Chinese "allies" pouring into our shores while we're distracted with the nonsense in the Middle East. Just thought I'd let you know how a real conservative feels!

Condoleeza Rice and Co. have been abject failures. If the US had spent more time taking care of its backyard using diplomacy, foreign aid ... Chavez never would have been elected
