How would you expect a journalist to portray an American convicted of providing material support to terrorists while declaring, “violence against institutions was sometimes necessary to fight oppression”?
As a hero, of course.
She’s already a grandmother of 14, a cancer survivor and a former civil rights lawyer who took on radical clients others considered toxic.
…
It was hardly unusual for Stewart to question authority and defend unpopular figures in her three-decade legal career. With an aggressive yet self-effacing courtroom style, she represented Black Panthers, leaders of the 1960s student activist group Weather Underground, a former mob hit man and a man accused of trying to kill nine police officers. As with other clients, she grew close to Abdel-Rahman and watched as he deteriorated mentally and physically through years of solitary confinement — to the point, she says, that she felt compelled to help him speak out.
…
Stewart has drawn comfort from her family, including her six adult children and 14 grandchildren, and enjoyed the backing of other defense lawyers and strangers who see her case as a symptom of intolerant times. There have been hundreds of letters of support and a series of rallies. Her supporters see her case as “another affront to the constitution,” she said. “They want to live in a free society.”
I think the operative word here is “live”. They want to live. No matter how you wish to portray her, she’s still an American citizen who helped a convicted terrorist communicate with his terrorist followers and incite violence against the United States. Pro-creating and support from anarchists does not mitigate her crime against this country. The MSM is portraying her as a sweet little grandma when they should be portraying her more like the wolf.
UPDATE:
28 months. That’s all she got. The jihadis will be happy.
Others:
Michelle says she deserves the maximum sentence. I agree.

I understand from news accounts Stewart is to be sentenced today. 30 years in jail is possible. Sounds good to me.

Sentencing Day
So what sentencing guideline did the judge rely upon in sentencing Stewart? Also, why the discrepancy between Sattar’s sentence and Stewarts. Both were convicted of the same crime, and Stewart’s presence was what enabled Sattar to transmit the inform…

You were expecting a liberal Jihadist sympathizing lawyer to receive a more appropriate sentence… in our court system? The bar fies in Saigon hustling the GI’s for “Saigon Tea” were more honorable than Stewart. At least they never tried to appear as something they weren’t.
Let’s be sure to stay home on Nov 7th, so the Dems can take control of the Congress and ensure that we never get the legal system straightened out.

This is so wrong.
Rosie ODonnell and Natalie Maines will be fighting to play this traitor in the Lifetime movie version.

Terrorist’s Lawyer Sentenced to 28 Months

Slightly off track but mentioning Natalie Maines, a local letter to the editor referred to Natalie as the “Fat Dixie Chick”. What a classy insult, wish that I were so creative.

American traitor gets only 28 months
“If you send her to prison, she’s going to die.”
Someone remind me where that’s our problem? This woman wanted to help a jihadist carry out his murderous plans, and now we’re supposed to be concerned she might die?
I think we need to MAKE SURE s…

Stewart passed notes form a terroist to his “partners” and they carried on other attacks. She was facing 30 years and gets less than 10% of that time.
The result of this case will embolden the 900 lawyers at Gitmo to pass messages for their clients and possibly further more attacks.
Wesley Snipes doesn’t harm anyone but evades paying taxes and he could face 40 years.
Justice?

The moral of they story? Killing Americans is fine, but don’t even think about keeping the feds out of your pocket!
