Maybe this is just another “botched joke”…
A New Jersey congressman raised questions Thursday about a new military voting program that lets service members request and submit their ballots by fax or e-mail.
The congressman in question is… wait, here comes the punchline… a DEMOCRAT! Dun dun dun…
Despite the fact that the Defense Department has said it has taken every precaution to protect the identities of the soldiers voting (and warned them of any potential risks so they could opt to use another method of casting a ballot), Democratic Rep. Rush Holt has raised an 11th hour challenge to try and prevent military members from using the new system to cast ballots.
Of course, to Democrats, challenging the military vote comes as routine as disparaging the military itself. The reason is obvious.
But they’re not interested in disenfranchising everyone…
…They encourage illegal aliens to vote…
…They consistently work with liberal organizations to encourage Democrats to vote multiple times…
…and they regularly challenge legislation that would help prevent voter fraud…
Seems they want everyone on the planet (and some buried deep within the planet) to vote…
…just not the very men and women who valiantly volunteer their lives to protect us.

Instead of Dun dun dun after you say democrat it should be Dee-dee-dee! Sorry I couldn’t help myself on that 1.

Yup, they support the troops, alright - the ones that “shoot their officers” and the ones that don’t vote. Other than that, they pretty much “loathe” the military.

What the left really thinks about the military
I’m sorry, liberals, but as I repeatedly state, there’s a reason that about 70% of the military votes Republican: they know you don’t like them. It’s going to take you a couple of generations to undo that kind of damage to their perception, and ju…

“In an editorial appearing in the Nov. 13 issue of Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times, on newsstands Monday, the papers say it is time for the president “to face the hard bruising truth.”
“His strategy has failed, and his ability to lead is compromised. And although the blame for our failures in Iraq rests with the secretary, it will be the troops who bear its brunt,” the newspapers say.
Since we know that Bush will keep Rumsfeld on the job until 2008, are you still so darn sure that the military will be voting Republican?

Good point. They can always vote for the party that hates them, has spitted on them since Vietnam, and fights like hell to keep their votes from being counted. In case you’re too dim to interpret that, I’m referring to the Democrats.

CL, it’s funny you always need to insult when you post. I think soldiers might vote against the party that establishes a losing strategy and insists on sticking with it, no matter what the cost is to the soldiers. As the Army Times said “His strategy has failed, and his ability to lead is compromised. And although the blame for our failures in Iraq rests with the secretary, it will be the troops who bear its brunt.”
Republicans pay lip service to the military. Very willing to honour them in words, not so willing to pay them appropriately, offer them the superior healthcare they are entitled to or the leadership they deserve.

Agreed. That’s why they always vote against the Democrats.
Republicans pay lip service to the military.
And Dems have a pitiful track record with the military. So the soldiers can either vote for the party that “pays lip service” to them, or the party that hates their stinking guts. Decisions, decisions…

CL, I didn’t realise that the Democrats have been establishing the strategy in Iraq. My bad. All that talk of Bush being the Decider must have confused me.
Hmmm, chose between the guys who pay lip service to your importance and put you in a war without the resources (such as, say, protective gear) or the strategy to win it, or between the guys who are not willing to let you die to cover their own mistakes. Decisions, decisions….

I didn’t realise that the Democrats have been establishing the strategy in Iraq.
They haven’t been. The one they advocate, i.e. cut-and-run, is the one that the soldiers reject. Yeah, your bad.
Hmmm, chose between the guys who pay lip service to your importance and put you in a war without the resources (such as, say, protective gear) or the strategy to win it, or between the guys who are not willing to let you die to cover their own mistakes.
We have a strategy. You just disagree with it. And your “not the right protective gear” lie has been debunked on numerous occasions, here and elsewhere. I’d give you links, but judging by your insistence to cling to the Army Times as a mouthpiece for official Army positions, I’m guessing you would ignore them, too.
Plus, if you think that Dems want the soldiers out of Iraq because they “don’t want the soldiers to die for mistakes”, you’re a bigger boob than I thought. The Dems hate the soldiers, and have done so since the 1960’s. Michael Barone nails you guys on your reflexive disdain for the military.
Sorry, bub, but we’re not going to let you run from your pathetic anti-troop sentiment. By you saying that the soldiers SHOULD vote for the party that hates them (that would be the Democrats), you are echoing Kerry’s sentiments that the soldiers are idiots. Well done.

Hey, how about that! That Kerry guy is a uniter after all!
