…when it’s politically convenient. Suddenly when Congressmen are campaigning in churches, as Democrats find themselves doing about every four years, the separation of church and state mantra subsides. But find a picture of a Republican within 50 feet of a Bible and suddenly we hear about the dangers of the “religious right” and the “christian fundamentalists”.
Sorry, but pandering at the pulpit of black churches on the campaign trail isn’t “finding religion”. It’s a transparent political ploy by the party that still favors the killing of unborn children, the promotion of gay marriage, and the removal of references to God or Faith from public view.
…and speaking of pandering, it looks like taking the black vote for granted is backfiring in Maryland.
Can I get a Hallelujah!?!?
