Questions for the Left
November 9th, 2006 12:05 pm

1. If Diebold was rigging elections for Bush, how did Democrats win this week?

2. If the electronic voting machines in place for election day compromised the integrity of the election, why aren’t you still complaining about such an important issue?

3. If voter fraud and disenfranchisement of particular groups is so widespread, why are you or the MSM not talking about it anymore?

4. If Republicans stole the elections in 2000 and 2004, why didnt they steal this one?

5. If Bush = Hitler, why did he let Democrats win both Houses of Congress?

6. Now that the “world loves us” that should end the threat of terrorism, right?

7. If Bush is a Fascist, how did 79 million people find their way to voting booths this week?

8. Since corruption was the key issue according to exit polls, will you address it?

9. How does a 33-seat margin in the House and a 1-seat majority in the Senate equal a mandate, when a 31-seat margin in the House and 11-seat majority in the Senate, combined with having the White House, was not?

  1. Great questions. Don’t hold your breath waiting for reasonable answers though.

  2. [Parental warning - not a Republican post, do NOT read if you’re still in mourning]

    1. They still lost because the landslide was just too huge ;) .

    2. We now have two years to fix them. But the complaints are still being made about the existing issues:

    3. They still do:

    4. See #1

    5. About as dumb a comment as calling Kennedy communist.

    6. Actions first. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe US policy hasn’t changed a whit yet.

    7. See #5. But having 60% of voters stay home is hardly something to be proud off. Almost two-thirds of eligible Americans no longer believe that their vote matters.

    8. By investigating the corruption that existed, punishing it and trying to do better? Isn’t that obvious?

    9. Are you implying that BJ was lying when he claimed a mandate? Or are you just trying to have your cake and eat it too?

Where is the Republican outcry about the Senate Minority party’s threat to block legislation by filibustering (John Cornyn)? Or have Republicans suddenly changed their mind on the constitutionality of the filibuster?

  3. And here is a REALLY perplexing question: if Rumsfeld was really going to resign anyway, why didn’t he do it a month or so before the election and give the ‘Pubs at least a chance in keeping control?

  4. ArkCoDem, like Bush said, he thought that things were going fine (”Shows you what I know” he said). Just like in Iraq and Afghanistan, he just didn’t see how it could go wrong. A fatal combination of lack of imagination and curiosity with an overabundance of self-confidence and optimism. Hubris, they used to call this kind of thing.
