A muslim cleric is drawing criticism in Australia for a series of videos he made encouraging young children to become martyrs

We want to have children and offer them as soldiers defending Islam,” the Australian-born Sheik Feiz Mohammed, head of the Global Islamic Youth Center in western Sydney, said in one video broadcast on Australian television.

Well, that is one way to insure this is the last generation of dumbass jihadis.

Of course, when interviewed, the idiot claimed his words had been misconstrued.

“The jihad I speak of is not one of violence,” he said. “It is one of personal struggle against things like mischievousness, temptation and personal harm.”

“I don’t believe in suicide bombing. I don’t believe in violence against others,” he said. “We denounce that. This is not Islamic law and it is not moral.”

Here’s the video, judge for yoursellf:

Teach them this: There is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a mujahid. Put in their soft, tender hearts the zeal of jihad and a love of martyrdom.”

Maybe he’s just a little pissed off that his religion of peace suicide bombing is losing steam…

…in Iraq:

Two Shiite militia commanders said Thursday that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has stopped protecting radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s Madhi Army under pressure from Washington, while the fighters described themselves as under seige in their Sadr City stronghold.

Their account of an organization now fighting for its very existence could represent a tactical and propaganda feint, but there was mounting evidence the militia is increasingly off balance and has ordered its gunmen to melt back into the population. To avoid capture, commanders report no longer using cell phones and fighters are removing their black uniforms and hiding their weapons during the day.

…and in Lebanon:

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Shi’ite Muslim Hezbollah, was a hero in this Sunni village in south Lebanon when Israeli troops were forced to withdraw in 2000 but his picture was torn down a few weeks ago.

The opposition, led by Hezbollah, wants veto power in the cabinet or early elections. “For me, Hezbollah has changed completely,” shopkeeper Ghada Ghadir said. “It’s no longer resistance. It’s a big problem.”

Adios ackbar.
