Clinton Admits She’s Not Pro-Choice
February 4th, 2008 10:23 am

At least when it comes to choosing whether you want to buy insurance. Hillary is now proposing that all Americans be forced to enter into contracts, even if they don’t want to, or face having their wages garnished by the federal government.

WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.

The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC’s “This Week,” she said: “I think there are a number of mechanisms” that are possible, including “going after people’s wages, automatic enrollment.”

Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it, which puts undue pressure on hospitals and emergency rooms. With her proposals for subsidies, she said, “it will be affordable for everyone.”

Proposals like this ought to make every freedom-loving American run for the hills. She’s proposing to eliminate your right to choose whether you want to purchase health insurance or not… and if you refuse to enter into a contract for health insurance, she would use the federal government to force you to buy insurance by confiscating your wages.

It’s ironic that you don’t hear the same liberals that accuse Republicans of everything nasty under the sun charging Clinton of proposing to violate the rights and freedoms of every American while advancing a policy that would put more money in the pockets of big evil insurance companies.

  2. TR - Hillary is pro-choice.

You can choose to join or you can choose not to join and suffer the consequences.

See, it’s your choice either way.

Out of the “44 million (give or take 100 million)” that aren’t covered:

How many choose not to be covered?

    How many are illegal aliens?

How many are in between plans?

How many are not covered (eligible) by ANY current governmental plan (S-CHIP, state plans, MediCare, MedicAid, etc.)?

If you subtract all of the above from the 44 million, how many Americans are then in need of health insurance coverage?

Why hasn’t government done more to put eligible people on existing plans?

    Who’s choice was that?
