Congressional Democrats are warning U.S. Iraq commander General David Petraeus, and the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, not to attempt to minimize the seriousness of the situation in Iraq when they testify to Congress next week. VOA’s Dan Robinson reports from Capitol Hill.

A few days before General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker appear before House and Senate committees to deliver their latest update on Iraq, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi makes clear what she hopes they will not say.

She hopes they won’t say that there’s been success in Iraq. Because good news out of Iraq - or for America, in general - is bad news for Democrats.

And, by God, this is an election year…

(And don’t forget how they preemptively attacked General Petraeus last time he testified)

If only they distrusted America’s enemies as much as those who defend us from them.

1. When this kind of thing happens I really start to wonder why we can’t ban the Democratic Party for a generation or two. They’ve clearly betrayed our country on every level and were hand in glove with the Communists during the Cold War, just the way they are now with the terrorists.

   Slap a ban on them, make a big database of who’s voted Dem recently, and keep them where we can see them until their kids or grandkids are old enough to start voting sensibly.

   Oh, and imprison the ringleaders once we’ve tried a few more terrorists… there’ll be room for rent in Gitmo.

4. So why is nobody willing to do what’s necessary and imprison the Democrats?

   We need to take the gloves off our military. They’re forbidden from interfering in domestic politics, but nobody forbids the media from intervening on behalf of the Dems. Time for this charade to end.

   We could start with Pelosi, Obama, both Clintons, and the CEOs of CBS, CNN and MSNBC sharing the same cell in a Navy brig. Teddy Kennedy could get special treatment… “aggressive interrogation techniques.” I’d pay to watch.
