Absence

You’ve probably noticed I’ve been absent lately. It’s because my focus has been on a lawsuit of a family member who had a minor accident with a van driven by an illegal alien 3 years ago from which they lawyered up and sued for $2 million. It was a grueling trial which ended yesterday in our favor. It was your typical case of plaintiff’s lawyers using the legal system as a lottery ticket.

So I’m getting back to normal daily activities and maybe one of these days I’ll write about our experience in this lawsuit. One interesting thing is that even in that setting, you could politics playing a large part - from the plaintiff’s lawyers striking potential jurors for their support of tort reform to the playing of the race card as a judicial weapon against innocent people to score cheap points with a jury.

Luckily the jury saw it for what it was. A disgrace. And the plaintiff’s lawyers spent $150,000 of their own money chasing this one. I take satisfaction in knowing they’ve lost money on the deal.
