What really causes me concern is that he said "I don't know any, uh, expert on the region or any military officer that I've spoken to, uh, privately that believes that that is gonna make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground." If these so-called-experts are his top advisors, what other folly are they advising him on? What does this say about his judgement to select and identify "experts", as well as what his decisions would be for cabinet positions, supreme court nominees, etc...?

Let's also not forget that he recently said "I had no doubt, and I said when I opposed the surge, that given how wonderfully our troops perform, if we place 30,000 more troops in there, then we would see an improvement in the security situation and we would see a reduction in the violence". Despite clearly contradicting his previous statements. He's proving he's most certainly not a new kind of politics, just a more brazen type of liar.
