Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), who has had an eventful couple of weeks to say the least, believes House Republican opposition to climate change legislation and the stimulus indicates they’re cheering against the good ol’ US of A.
“It appears that the Republican Party leadership in the Congress has made a decision that they want to deny President Obama success, which means, in my mind, they are rooting against the country, as well,” the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee chairman told WAMU radio host Diane Rehm on Tuesday morning, promoting his new book, “The Waxman Report.”
Another fine example of liberals trying to adopt catch-phrases in the completely wrong context. You see, when conservatives said liberals were rooting against the country, it was when liberals were actually rooting against and slandering American troops, denying their right to vote, or admitting that good news for America in a war was bad news for their party…
But now that conservatives are trying to oppose the push by liberals to turn America into a socialist trainwreck, liberals are claiming such opposition is somehow an opposition to the country. If that’s the case, then count me among those rooting against the country… Obama’s Country.
I’m rooting against a country where the federal government takes over the auto, financial, health and insurance industries.
I’m rooting against a country where the President thinks he has the right to fire corporate executives or decide the compensation structures in the private sector.
I’m rooting against a country where the President tries to circumvent checks and balances of senate approval by appointing nearly two-dozen soviet-style Czars.
I’m rooting against a country where criminal associates of the President are put in charge of the tool used to apportion representatives.
I’m rooting against a country where the media ceases to be the reporter of news and becomes a propaganda tool of the administration.
I’m rooting against a country where the President wants to completely disarm while simultaneously rewarding state-sponsors of terrorism.
I’m rooting against a country where the President subserviently bows to foreign leaders.
Waxman is right, I am rooting against Barack Obama’s success… because Obama defines success like Chavez, Castro and Ahmadenijad do. You’re damn right I’m rooting against that country…
