Another fine example of why Congress is held in such high regard…

It’s often said that members of Congress don’t read legislation before casting votes. I now understand why. Most of them are probably too stupid to understand what they’re reading anyway. Not only does Democrat Corrine Brown show that she has no comprehension of the matter upon which she’s speaking (or cheering), but she’s so unintelligible that subtitles are required.

And to top it off, she gives this public display of stupidity in the halls of Congress, wasting the time representatives could be spending on topics that are actually important… while wearing a bathrobe.

More taxpayer money down the toilet.

When some folks went on a mission to expose ACORN (Barack Obama’s former employer and legal client) for the fraudulent and corrupt organization they are, ACORN fought back… often using allies in the mainstream media to carry its water.

In addition to the networks, other liberal organizations came to ACORN’s defense, relying solely on what ACORN told them…

In recent days, Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe, the conservative filmmakers who made the widely circulated ACORN videos, as well as Andrew Breitbart and Mike Flynn, who have been promoting the videos for BigGovernment.com, have claimed that the filmmakers were never rebuffed by any of the ACORN offices they visited in their attempts to get ACORN to assist them in improper activities. However, in a newly released video, ACORN Housing Corp.’s Katherine Conway Russell directly rebuts those claims, citing a police report ACORN filed as evidence that she asked the filmmakers to leave the ACORN office in Philadelphia and called the police after the filmmakers asked suspicious questions.

Oops.

According to MediaMatters’ website:

Using the website mediamatters.org as the principal vehicle for disseminating research and information, Media Matters posts rapid-response items as well as longer research and analytic reports documenting conservative misinformation throughout the media. Additionally, Media Matters works daily to notify activists, journalists, pundits, and the general public about instances of misinformation, providing them with the resources to rebut false claims and to take direct action against offending media institutions.

So now the real question is, will MediaMatters respond to their own dissemination of misinformation? I’m not holding my breath.

Nobel Peace Prize Joke
October 9th, 2009 6:11 am

Even the Pro-Obama media is in shock.

OSLO – President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.

It apparently doesn’t take anything of substance to win… In fact, the nomination came just 12 days after he became President. Granted, he hasn’t done anything of substance since, but a nomination after 12 days in office? Who was canvassing the Nobel Committee… ACORN?

Nobel observers were shocked by the unexpected choice so early in the Obama presidency, which began less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline.

So I guess they were basing the decision on all the hopenchange messages he delivered on the campaign trail. Unless they’re applauding him for continuing Bush’s military policies in Iraq and Afghanistan… both of which he has continued.

The Nobel Committee lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama’s calls for peace and cooperation but recognized initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.

I guess they have a policy prohibiting the award going to a teleprompter. Maybe they can erect a monument to Obama to celebrate this occasion… I hear there’s room in the Olympic circle in Chicago now. Of course, looking at what a joke the Nobel “Peace” Prize really is, keep in mind that Yassar Arafat won it… and Ghandi didn’t.

It’s truly an amazing feat… a lousy economy, a global laughing stock, and now the Nobel Peace Prize… Barack Obama has actually become Jimmy Carter faster than Jimmy Carter.

By the way, here’s a list of Obama “accomplishments”…

First Round Knockout
October 2nd, 2009 2:58 pm

Ouch, that’s gonna leave a mark.

Chicago were eliminated after the first round of voting for the 2016 Olympics host city.

Had this been Bush, the media would be pointing to this abject failure as proof the world hates him and hates America for having him. But get ready, the media won’t pounce on Obama like that. They’ll say he gave it his best, but it just wasn’t in the cards. They’ll pat him on the back and praise his tenacity… probably call it a life lesson or something.

But the real message is that the world doesn’t worship Obama like he and his liberal cohorts thought. This is further evidence of what the world really thinks. Of course, they heaped praise on Obama during the campaign and cheered his victory. It’s like rooting for your rival football team to draft the lousiest, dope-smoking, over-aged, has-been quarterback knowing he’ll be a complete failure… and his failure means your success.

By the way, I’m curious how much carbon was emitted when the Obamas took separate planes across the globe to make the sales pitch that resulted in a first round loss…

But hey, the upside is that this eco-unfriendly, gas-guzzling voyage allowed Obama to spend some quality time with the General leading the forces in Afghanistan.

President Obama summoned his top commander in Afghanistan for a 25-minute meeting aboard Air Force One on Friday as part of his review of a war strategy that has divided the president’s national security team.

Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal and Obama met just before the president returned to Washington from Copenhagen, where he was pitching the International Olympic Committee on Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 games.

Those are some priorities, aren’t they? Obama can muster up a trip across the globe, spending millions of taxpayer dollars to make a sales pitch for Chicago to get the Olympics so his neighborhood friends can make millions, but will only dedicate 25 minutes to speak with a Commander leading troops in the midst of a hard-fought war?

Oh, and by the way, the economy that Obama said would never see 8% unemployment if his stimulus fiasco was passed just delivered the highest unemployment rate since 1983… 9.8%. The least he could’ve done was get Chicago to the second round of voting.

Cracking the Nut
October 1st, 2009 12:44 pm

It’s probably time for Barack Obama to start worrying about 2012. Looks like his campaign machine is finally falling apart. First, his former employer and legal client was busted offering advice on child prostitution and human trafficking along with helpful tips on tax evasion… and now this.

On the second floor of an old building in South Oklahoma City “Little Mexico” neighborhood, there is a room that until recently, housed a branch of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), a low-income advocacy organization known for left-wing activism, rabble-rousing and – shockingly – voter registration fraud.

Left hurriedly and in a shambles, the small office, coated in a layer of plaster dust, still housed computers, documents, registration forms, I-9 employment info and boxes with an IRS return address and others with a return address for an ACORN office in New Orleans.

What was discovered in those documents shouldn’t come as any surprise.

ACORN, which receives millions in federal dollars for voter registration, cannot legally support one party. However, internal documents show ACORN “targeted” state legislative districts in 2007 and 2008, leading up to the presidential election.

ACORN always lamely claimed to be “non-partisan”, but you’d have to be braindead to believe they actually were. (Of course, if you’re braindead, you probably worked for or supported them at some point anyway)

The documents read like a combination of Obama campaign strategy memos and chapters straight from Marxist Saul Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals. (It’s not really a coincidence the two would sound similar)

One section is termed “a five-year plan to obtain power” (remember, Chapter 1 in Alinksy’s Rules states, “In this book we are concerned with how to create mass organizations to seize power…”). And community organizing is key to this strategy… surprise, surprise.

Therefore, the route to power is twofold: First, build powerful city organizations in Oklahoma City and Tulsa that can control these municipalities. Second, become an influential organization by shaping a handful of strategic legislative districts that, by themselves, can change who controls the state legislature.

(W)e will be seen as the force that is making Oklahoma a progressive state in the way that it was 100 years ago.

Under a subsection titled “Politics and Elections,” in 2007 and 2008, ACORN was looking to take over State Senate District 43, which they referred to as “the biggest prize,” in hopes of unseating Republican Sen. Jim Reynolds. And then there’s this…

Those internal documents include a sheet titled “Canvass recruitment rap,” a “script,” directed towards ACORN activists in Houston which says: “Hi, my name is ____. We are hiring Outreach Workers to remind people to get out and vote for Barack Obama in the upcoming election. One of our team members spoke to you today and you signed up for our intake tomorrow. You are interested in working with us on this important election, correct? … We’re hiring for people to go door to door talking to registered voters in Houston to get out the vote for Barack.”

So basically, if you paid your taxes last year, you helped fund Barack Obama’s campaign. That ought to give you a tingle up your leg.

No wonder they’re so anxious to raise taxes. To them, it’s just campaign fundraising.
