A Texan’s Response to Mahmoud
November 29th, 2006 5:22 pm

Noble Americans,

Our nation has always extended its hand of friendship to all other nations of the world.

Really? Sorry if we misinterpreted your storming of our embassy and killing our citizens in 1979. And we apologize if we didn’t recognize the threat to wipe a nation off the map as “extending a hand of friendship”. And forgive us for not appreciating that your offer of friendship is wrapped in your sponsorship of terrorism around the globe.

Hundreds of thousands of my Iranian compatriots are living amongst you in friendship and peace, and are contributing positively to your society. Our people have been in contact with you over the past many years and have maintained these contacts despite the unnecessary restrictions of US authorities.

We know all about your compatriots living among us. We arrested several for illegally smuggling more of your compatriots across the Mexican border. Another of your compatriots living among us pled guilty for trying to “buy and export fighter planes and other restricted equipment for use by the Iranian military.” And how many more are you planning to send over here to stake out our high profile landmarks?

As mentioned, we have common concerns, face similar challenges, and are pained by the sufferings and afflictions in the world.

Sorry, Mahmoud, but converting to Islam under the threat of beheading and carrying out a new Holocaust are not at the top of our to-do list.

We, like you, are aggrieved by the ever-worsening pain and misery of the Palestinian people. Persistent aggressions by the Zionists are making life more and more difficult for the rightful owners of the land of Palestine. In broad day-light, in front of cameras and before the eyes of the world, they are bombarding innocent defenseless civilians, bulldozing houses, firing machine guns at students in the streets and alleys, and subjecting their families to endless grief.

No day goes by without a new crime.

But enough about the Palestinian suicide bombers…

Palestinian mothers, just like Iranian and American mothers, love their children, and are painfully bereaved by the imprisonment, wounding and murder of their children. What mother wouldn’t?

And the grandmothers are strapping bomb vests on and blowing up people.

For 60 years, the Zionist regime has driven millions of the inhabitants of Palestine out of their homes. Many of these refugees have died in the Diaspora and in refugee camps. Their children have spent their youth in these camps and are aging while still in the hope of returning to homeland.

You know well that the US administration has persistently provided blind and blanket support to the Zionist regime, has emboldened it to continue its crimes, and has prevented the UN Security Council from condemning it.

No, we’ve prevented madmen like yourself from arbitrarily killing every innocent man, woman and child in Israel and… how did you put it… wiping Israel off the map.

Who can deny such broken promises and grave injustices towards humanity by the US administration?

This coming from the man who denies the Holocaust happened? C’mon, Mahmoud, you can do better than that.

Governments are there to serve their own people. No people wants to side with or support any oppressors. But regrettably, the US administration disregards even its own public opinion and remains in the forefront of supporting the trampling of the rights of the Palestinian people.

Let’s take a look at Iraq. Since the commencement of the US military presence in Iraq, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed, maimed or displaced.

How many have died at the hands of your own citizens sneaking across the border to commit acts of murder and terrorism?

Terrorism in Iraq has grown exponentially.

You should know, what with being the “most active state sponsor of terrorism” in the world and all.

With the presence of the US military in Iraq, nothing has been done to rebuild the ruins, to restore the infrastructure or to alleviate poverty.

Nothing at all… well, except for:
- A power system that surpasses the pre-war level of output,
- Completing work on Baghdad and Basrah airports which now average more than 20 non-military movements per day,
- Vaccinating 3 million children through monthly national immunization days,
- Renovating 2,356 schools nationwide,
- Training more than 2,000 primary healthcare providers in maternal and child health services,
- Creating more than 77,000 public works jobs through the National Employment Program,
- Rebuilding the banking and finance infrastructure of Iraq,
- Establishing 16 governorate councils, 78 district councils, 192 city or sub-district councils, and 392 neighborhood councils, allowing more than 19 million people to engage in local policy discourse.

But other than that, we’re really not doing much for Iraq’s infrastructure.

The US Government used the pretext of the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but later it became clear that that was just a lie and a deception.

Mahmoud, have you been talking to Howard Dean lately? Your rhetoric sounds quite familiar.

Although Saddam was overthrown and people are happy about his departure, the pain and suffering of the Iraqi people has persisted and has even been aggravated.

And it’s nice to see you’ve had coffee and twinkies with Michael Moore too. It is a shame that nice Saddam fella is out of power now, ain’t it?

In Iraq, about one hundred and fifty thousand American soldiers, separated from their families and loved ones, are operating under the command of the current US administration. A substantial number of them have been killed or wounded and their presence in Iraq has tarnished the image of the American people and government.

You don’t even have the credibility or honor to refer to the camel droppings on the bottom of a boot worn by our brave men and women. But regardless, if Iraq has tarnished our image and made people hate us, how do you explain the attacks of 9/11 that happened well before we entered Iraq? And how do you explain your own islamoterror raid on our embassy in 1979? Sorry, Mahmoud, but you islamonutjobs hated us long before March, 2003. And given that we will never submit to your brand of camel-humping Sharia law, I suspect that hatred will continue and grow for years to come.

Their mothers and relatives have, on numerous occasions, displayed their discontent with the presence of their sons and daughters in a land thousands of miles away from US shores. American soldiers often wonder why they have been sent to Iraq.

Wow, Howard Dean, Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan? Mahmoud’s hit the trifecta of liberal idiocy. That’s par for the course.

I consider it extremely unlikely that you, the American people, consent to the billions of dollars of annual expenditure from your treasury for this military misadventure.

We’ll consent to spend more if it means keeping nutjobs like you from going nuclear.

Noble Americans,

You have heard that the US administration is kidnapping its presumed opponents from across the globe and arbitrarily holding them without trial or any international supervision in horrendous prisons that it has established in various parts of the world. God knows who these detainees actually are, and what terrible fate awaits them.

You have certainly heard the sad stories of the Guantanamo and Abu-Ghraib prisons. The US administration attempts to justify them through its proclaimed “war on terror.” But every one knows that such behavior, in fact, offends global public opinion, exacerbates resentment and thereby spreads terrorism, and tarnishes the US image and its credibility among nations.

Yeah, their fate is so terrible. These terrorists from third world ratholes are gaining weight in our “terrible” prisons. We’re such terrible people, we’re making the extra effort to make sure the meals are Halal - adhering to Islamic law - for the very prisoners that want to cut off each of our heads and blow up our children. If you ask me, our detention centers for the terrorists captured on the battlefield aren’t harsh enough for the slime that inhabits them.

The US administration’s illegal and immoral behavior is not even confined to outside its borders. You are witnessing daily that under the pretext of “the war on terror,” civil liberties in the United States are being increasingly curtailed. Even the privacy of individuals is fast losing its meaning. Judicial due process and fundamental rights are trampled upon. Private phones are tapped, suspects are arbitrarily arrested, sometimes beaten in the streets, or even shot to death.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d think this letter is really just an official declaration of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s intent to enter the 2008 Presidential race on the Democrat ticket.

I have no doubt that the American people do not approve of this behavior and indeed deplore it.

Wrong.

The US administration does not accept accountability before any organization, institution or council. The US administration has undermined the credibility of international organizations, particularly the United Nations and its Security Council. But, I do not intend to address all the challenges and calamities in this message.

The U.N. doesn’t need any help in losing credibility. And speaking of refusing to accept accountability before organizations like the U.N., why don’t you tell us if you’re still defying U.N. demands to stop uranium enrichment. That’s what I thought you hypocritical, terror-loving jackass.

The legitimacy, power and influence of a government do not emanate from its arsenals of tanks, fighter aircrafts, missiles or nuclear weapons. Legitimacy and influence reside in sound logic, quest for justice and compassion and empathy for all humanity. The global position of the United States is in all probability weakened because the administration has continued to resort to force, to conceal the truth, and to mislead the American people about its policies and practices.

You mean like the justice in publicly hanging political activists? Or the compassion in hanging men for being gay? Or are you referring to the beat down and teargassing of brave women who showed up for a Women’s Rights rally in Tehran?

Undoubtedly, the American people are not satisfied with this behavior and they showed their discontent in the recent elections. I hope that in the wake of the mid-term elections, the administration of President Bush will have heard and will heed the message of the American people.

This is probably why you Iranians don’t really hold free and fair elections, huh? Of course, when you’re hanging political opponents, you don’t really have to worry about losing elections to them, do you? Tell ya what, Mahmoud, you figure out a way to hold free and fair elections without the influence of islamonutjob mullahs determining the outcome and you might find an ounce of credibility to speak on the subject.

My questions are the following:

Is there not a better approach to governance?

This is a laughable question coming from the leader of a mullah-driven, sharia-run theocracy that murders those who refuse to convert to islam.

Is it not possible to put wealth and power in the service of peace, stability, prosperity and the happiness of all peoples through a commitment to justice and respect for the rights of all nations, instead of aggression and war?

Not when tyrants like you are running around threatening to wipe countries off the map and trying to gain nuclear weapons that you’ll undoubtedly pass off to the terrorists you so willingly support so that they can murder millions of innocent citizens at a quicker pace.

We all condemn terrorism, because its victims are the innocent.

Is that why you praise suicide bombers by saying “Is there art that is more beautiful, more divine, and more eternal than the art of martyrdom?”.

But, can terrorism be contained and eradicated through war, destruction and the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocents?

It can be contained by killing the terrorists before they strike. Each dead terrorist represents an innocent life saved.

If that were possible, then why has the problem not been resolved?

Maybe because islamonutjobs like you keep promoting terrorism.

The sad experience of invading Iraq is before us all.

What has blind support for the Zionists by the US administration brought for the American people? It is regrettable that for the US administration, the interests of these occupiers supersedes the interests of the American people and of the other nations of the world.

If it weren’t for our “blind” support, islamonutjobs might follow through on their promises to wipe the “zionists” off the map.

What have the Zionists done for the American people that the US administration considers itself obliged to blindly support these infamous aggressors? Is it not because they have imposed themselves on a substantial portion of the banking, financial, cultural and media sectors?

I recommend that in a demonstration of respect for the American people and for humanity, the right of Palestinians to live in their own homeland should be recognized so that millions of Palestinian refugees can return to their homes and the future of all of Palestine and its form of government be determined in a referendum. This will benefit everyone.

Now that Iraq has a Constitution and an independent Assembly and Government, would it not be more beneficial to bring the US officers and soldiers home, and to spend the astronomical US military expenditures in Iraq for the welfare and prosperity of the American people? As you know very well, many victims of Katrina continue to suffer, and countless Americans continue to live in poverty and homelessness.

Now I’m convinced Mahmoud is taking his orders directly from the DNC. But Mahmoud, you forgot to mention the fact that President Bush hates black people.

I’d also like to say a word to the winners of the recent elections in the US:

The United States has had many administrations; some who have left a positive legacy, and others that are neither remembered fondly by the American people nor by other nations.

Now that you control an important branch of the US Government, you will also be held to account by the people and by history.

Trust me, Mahmoud, after 2 years of Nancy Pelosi liberalism, we’ll correct this minor electoral error.

If the US Government meets the current domestic and external challenges with an approach based on truth and Justice, it can remedy some of the past afflictions and alleviate some of the global resentment and hatred of America. But if the approach remains the same, it would not be unexpected that the American people would similarly reject the new electoral winners, although the recent elections, rather than reflecting a victory, in reality point to the failure of the current administration’s policies. These issues had been extensively dealt with in my letter to President Bush earlier this year.

Let’s see, we tried the whole appeasement route in the 1990s and it bought us continued terror attacks. So take your hollow advice and shove it.

To sum up:

It is possible to govern based on an approach that is distinctly different from one of coercion, force and injustice.

It is possible to sincerely serve and promote common human values, and honesty and compassion.

It is possible to provide welfare and prosperity without tension, threats, imposition or war.

It is possible to lead the world towards the aspired perfection by adhering to unity, monotheism, morality and spirituality and drawing upon the teachings of the Divine Prophets.

Then, the American people, who are God-fearing and followers of Divine religions, will overcome every difficulty.

What I stated represents some of my anxieties and concerns.

I am confident that you, the American people, will play an instrumental role in the establishment of justice and spirituality throughout the world. The promises of the Almighty and His prophets will certainly be realized, Justice and Truth will prevail and all nations will live a true life in a climate replete with love, compassion and fraternity.

The US governing establishment, the authorities and the powerful should not choose irreversible paths. As all prophets have taught us, injustice and transgression will eventually bring about decline and demise. Today, the path of return to faith and spirituality is open and unimpeded.

We should all heed the Divine Word of the Holy Qur’an:

“But those who repent, have faith and do good may receive Salvation. Your Lord, alone, creates and chooses as He will, and others have no part in His choice; Glorified is God and Exalted above any partners they ascribe to Him.” (28:67-68)

Hey, at least you didn’t quote the parts of that stupid book that detail the beheading of innocent people who refuse to succumb to the religion of terror. That’s a start.

I pray to the Almighty to bless the Iranian and American nations and indeed all nations of the world with dignity and success.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran
29 November 2006

And I pray to the real Almighty that terrorists like you meet your maker sooner rather than later.

Today’s “if the election were held today, Democrats would win” story is brought to you by the AP:

The AP-Ipsos survey asked 789 registered voters if the election for the House were held today, would they vote for the Democratic or Republican candidate in their district. Democrats were favored 51 percent to 40 percent.

It’s just become so transparent. When things start looking positive for Republicans, roll out the “if the election were held today” bogus poll based on a room full of mostly liberals and proclaim an end to the positive news.

The bogus poll is also based on 789 registered voters. 789! Basically, the results of this poll tell us that 402 registered voters somewhere in America would vote for Democrats today.

Sweetness & Light shows us that Ipsos skewed this poll like all of their other polls:

Ipsos was apparently doing some “fuzzy” math, but the total number of Republicans (if you add the 17 and 25) was 42, not 41.

Thus, the result of this poll is that they oversampled Democrats by 11% and the margin of preference for a Democrat Congress is…. wait for it…. are you ready…. 11%!

*****
Update: Thanks to commenter Patrick who brought my attention to the sampling data. The S&L question cited was a follow up to the party affiliation question and thus the sampling was actually:

Republican ………………………………… 28
Democrat…………………………………… 33
Independent ………………………………. 27
None of these…………………………….. 12
Not sure…………………………………… -

Still an oversample of Democrats, as usual. Not as high as originally thought, but an oversample, nonetheless. In addition, one has to wonder how many of the 27% Independent previously identified themselves with one of the two parties.

The follow up question then, shows that the two major parties only see a “strong” following by 17% and 21%, respectively. The move to the middle, or possible third party ground is rather significant - 62%. Something I addressed last month.
*****

I’m sure come the first Wednesday after the first Monday in November, we’ll be reading how shocked, shocked, the MSM is that Republicans have maintained control of (or even gained seats in) both Houses.

Joseph Goebbels may be dead, but his spirit lives on in the MSM.

Others:
Betsy found some more anomalies in the poll.

I posted about this almost 3 years ago when Texas Democrats walked off the job and threw a temper tantrum because they weren’t getting their way.

Today, the United States Supreme Court affirmed the congressional map engineered by Tom Delay. With the exception of a single district in southwest Texas, the court upheld the entire map.

In the lead opinion for the court, Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote, “We reject the statewide challenge to Texas’ redistricting as an unconstitutional political gerrymander and the challenge to the redistricting in the Dallas area as a violation of the Voting Rights Act.”

I’ll repeat the last line of my post from 3 years ago:

But the democrats in typical fashion have decided that they don’t like the outcome, so they’re just not going to show up for work. Just imagine if we all did that to our employers……

How typical is it that Democrats lose an election and resort to court challenges to try and overturn election results. It’s no wonder they want to pack the judicial branch with liberal activists. It’s a way to circumvent the electorate and ram their idiotic policies down our throats.

And yet they lost again. Maye this time they’ll challenge the ruling by fleeing… the country.

I’ve written about it over and over. Democrats and their MSM allies love to play the “if the election were held today” game throughout the election cycle, then appear shocked and amazed that they’re on the losing side when the actual elections take place.

Today is no different.

A former Republican congressman narrowly beat his Democratic rival early Wednesday to fill the House seat once held by jailed Randy “Duke” Cunningham, one of several contests in eight states closely watched as a possible early barometer of next fall’s vote.

Republican Brian Bilbray emerged victorious after a costly and contentious special election race against Democrat Francine Busby, a local school board member.

Nevermind that they suddenly consider 50-45 a “narrow” victory.

But just a couple of months ago, the MSM was seeing a different outcome:

With potential votes split between 14 Republican candidates in the 50th District congressional race, the front-runner apparently continues to be Democrat Francine Busby—- one of two Democrats vying for the seat, according to poll results released Monday by El Cajon-based Datamar, Inc.

Asked who they would vote for if the election were held today, respondents’ ranked the top seven candidates as follows:

- Cardiff School Board member Francine Busby —- 36 percent

- Republican and former congressman Brian Bilbray —- 11.7 percent

Oops.

But don’t expect Katie Couric or Matt Lauer to herald this and other Republican victories anytime soon. They’ll likely focus on bogus stories of disenfranchisement or widescale genocide on Democrat voters and small puppies.

I Told You So
February 28th, 2006 5:12 am

On Sunday, I highlighted why the Left continues to be shocked and surprised when elections don’t follow the trends of their mid-year polls. They get themselves all worked up over bogus poll numbers and media spin, then find themselves with a huge hangover the morning after the election. You’d think they’d have learned by now. Almost as if on cue, here is the headline for seeBS News’ latest poll: “Poll: Bush Ratings At All-Time Low“But look at the sample of respondents:

Total Republicans:……….289
Total Democrats:………..381
Total Independents:…….348

…and that’s the weighted sample. Look at the unweighted sample:

Total Republicans:……….272
Total Democrats:………..409
Total Independents:…….337

It’s becoming so blatant, it’s comical.

“If the Election Were Held Today”
February 26th, 2006 5:20 pm

Democrats love to pretend that polls matter more than actual elections. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that if midterm elections were held today “Democrats would win the five seats they need to draw even in the Senate…”

I can understand the wishful thinking, since the only time Democrats have been capable of securing control of the Senate in the last 10 years, it required a candidate disenfranchising voters by switching parties after being elected as a Republican.

Going back a few years, Democrats have clung to the hope that random polls throughout the year were indicative of actual election results. Maybe it’s that faulty reliance that gives rise to such shock, when their candidates go down in flames at the hands of voters, instead of “a representative sample teenagers at the grocery store” or “a statistical sampling of elderly Lakers fans”.

Over and over again, they build their dreams on the false hopes…

October 31, 2003 - “An independent poll released this week by the non-partisan William C. Velasquez Institute (WCVI) confirmed that Hispanics are growing increasingly frustrated with President Bush’s policies and performance. According to the Institute’s research, if the election were held today, any Democratic presidential candidate would beat Bush by a margin of almost two to one, or 55 percent to 28 percent.”

February 3, 2004 - “Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry would defeat President Bush if the election were held today, according to a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll that shows serious vulnerabilities for the president.”

February 18, 2004 - “US President George W. Bush would lose to either of the two leading Democratic presidential contenders, if elections were held today, according to a new public opinion poll.”

May 5, 2004 - “So, the bottom line is if the election were held today, Kerry would take 51% of the vote to Mr. Bush’s 36%.”

October 5, 2004 - “If the election were held today, John Kerry and George Bush would tie in Ohio, according to an exclusive WKYC-TV survey.”

And if building false hopes wasn’t enough for them, there’s this:

June 16, 2005 - “Here’s a poll whose results I’d love to know: a do-over of the presidential election, six months later.”

Unfortunately for Democrats our country is not governed by mid-year polls and media surveys. But I have no problem if they want to keep thinking they mean something.

Compare and contrast two recent stories from CNN.

October 18, 2005 - Bush approval number goes down:

Headline: Bush’s job rating continues to drop

President Bush’s job approval rating continues to plummet, with 39 percent of Americans surveyed in the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll supporting his performance, compared to 58 percent expressing disapproval.

October 25, 2005 - Bush approval number goes UP:

Headline: Poll: Bush would lose an election if held this year

A majority would vote for a Democrat over President Bush if an election were held this year, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll released Tuesday…

In the poll, 42 percent of those interviewed approved of the way the president is handling his job and 55 percent disapproved.

Took a little extra effort, but CNN was able to find a way to put some negative spin on the poll showing Bush’s numbers going up.

What the hell does Kerry stand for?
Can someone please explain just what in the hell Kerry’s position on Iraq is? To say he has flipped more than a catfish on the deck of a boat would be an understatement. Now he’s trying the “tough talk“, but given that he’s conveniently failing to remember his own positions on the issue, it’s just coming off as political rhetoric high on the bullshit meter.

Sen. John Kerry said Monday that mistakes by President Bush in invading Iraq could lead to unending war and that no responsible commander in chief would have begun the war knowing Saddam Hussein didn’t possess weapons of mass destruction and wasn’t an imminent threat to the United States.

“Knowing Saddam Hussein didn’t possess weapons of mass destruction”??? In 1997, John Kerry said, “Saddam Hussein - without doubt - had weapons of mass destruction which were exceptionally threatening to surrounding countries, in fact to the entire planet.” His “Without a doubt” is now “didn’t possess”? That is certainly interesting.

In 2002, John Kerry said, “The threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but as I said, it is not new. It has been with us since the end of that war, and particularly in the last 4 years we know after Operation Desert Fox failed to force him to reaccept them, that he has continued to build those weapons. He has had a free hand for 4 years to reconstitute these weapons, allowing the world, during the interval, to lose the focus we had on weapons of mass destruction and the issue of proliferation.”

Now John Kerry says Bush acted “knowing Saddam Hussein didn’t possess weapons of mass destruction.” Somehow the “real threat” that was “not new” is now “knowing Saddam Hussein didn’t possess weapons of mass destruction”. Color me confused.

Then Kerry says,

“Yet today, President Bush tells us that he would do everything all over again, the same way. How can he possibly be serious?”

Is John Kerry SERIOUS? This is the same guy that said that knowing then what he knows today about the lack of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, still would have voted to authorize the war and “in all probability” would have launched a military attack to oust Hussein by now if he were president. How can John Kerry possibly be serious? This is laughable.

Kerry continued,

“Is he really saying to Americans that if we had known there were no imminent threat, no weapons of mass destruction, no ties to al-Qaida, the United States should have invaded Iraq? My answer is resoundingly no because a commander in chief’s first responsibility is to make a wise and responsible decision to keep America safe.”

Actually, that’s not what Bush said. Bush said it would be unwise for a President to wait for a threat to fully materialize into an “imminent threat”, for then it would be too late to respond. Obviously, Kerry doesn’t get this, whether it’s wilful ignorance or just plain stupidity. If one needs proof, take a look at North Korea. With respect to WMDs, take a look at Kerry’s own statement that he would’ve voted for the war even knowing there were no WMDs… and even despite his claim during prior years that Saddam “without a doubt” had them. Perhaps if he’d actually attended the Intelligence meetings when he served on the Committee, he’d have a different take than his public statements in that regard.

No ties to Al-Qaida? The ties are all over the place. Kerry keeps trying to muddy the issues of Al-Qaida-Iraq links with 9/11-Iraq links. While it’s not been proven Iraq was a partner in 9/11, they certainly had ties to Al-Qaida, from Abu Abbas living in Baghdad (ie. “safe haven”) to Iraqi nerve gas agents working with Al-Qaida at the el Shifa plant in Sudan (ask Richard Clarke) to meetings of high level Iraqi government officials with Al-Qaida members (see the 9/11 Report). By the way, if you’ve been reading the news lately, you’ve been hearing a certain name brought up with respect to the insurgency in Iraq - Al Zarqawi… member of Al-Qaida. Exactly what does John Kerry need to see to identify “ties”??? Makes me wonder if he’s competent to be President if he can’t even recognize the obvious. I suspect, though, he sees the evidence, but chooses to play politics with them because he thinks it will win him votes. That’s even worse than being an idiot.

John Kerry then offered his own four-point plan starting with pressing other nations for help.

Get more help from other nations.

Does he mean the 40+ nations in the coalition? Or is he just referring to France, Germany, Russia and China, four countries who have been aiding Saddam in the Oil for Food scandal and profiting at the expense of the Iraqi people for whom the aid was intended, while arming Saddam with illegal weapons and weapons systems? Yeah, we want a President who is willing to alienate cooperative countries by calling them “window dressing” and who would rather have a handful of countries that make up one of the biggest international frauds in history, a fraud that actually took money designed to aid those in need and redirected it to terrorist activities. That’s not the kind of coalition I want my President building. Thanks anyway.

Provide better training for Iraqi security forces.

Yeah, it’s a shame President Bush voted against funding the project… oh wait, that wasn’t President Bush that voted against, after voting for… or something…

Provide benefits to the Iraqi people.

Like food and electricity alread being distributed evenly across the country? Or the nearly 2,500 schools that have been renovated with 32,000 secondary school teachers that have been trained? Or the Oil infrastructure that is being rebuilt and can already produce 2.5 million barrels per day? Perhaps it’s the benefit to Iraq of having a free press, with over 100 newspapers and numerous broadcast outlets? Could it be benefits like small businesses thriving in Iraqs streets or giving Iraq a stable currency, like the value of new dinar having already risen 25 percent. Yeah, providing benefits to the Iraqi people is a noble effort… an effort already being successfully undertaken. Maybe he means some other kind of benefits… perhaps a lifetime supply of ketchup?

Ensure that democratic elections can be held next year as promised.

Um, will someone please inform John that this isn’t a new concept… A UN team helped form an Iraqi Independent Election Commission to oversee national elections. In January 2005, the Iraqi people will choose a Transitional National Assembly, the first representative national governing body in Iraqs history.

John Kerry seems to be a master of offering solutions that already exist and painting them as something new and revolutionary. He also seems to be skilled at ignoring his past positions and trying to project those retarded arguments onto his opponents as if it were their ideas, not his. He is a politician to the core. Ready to say anything to anybody for a quick spike in the polls. Ready to sell out his own family if it means more votes. He offered nothing new today, just the same old tired rhetoric. He continues to say Bush did the wrong thing, but continues to say he would’ve still voted for the war knowing what he knows now, continues to say the troops are underfunded while ignoring the fact HE voted to underfund them, continues to say he’d offer Iraq benefits… benefits which already exist or are already being delivered, and continues to say we are in Iraq alone, ignoring 40+ other brave countries who are working with us and instead focusing on a handful of corrupt countries that chose illegal deals over international safety.

Thanks, John Kerry, but you’ve got nothing to offer America… except a daily reminder that you served a couple of months in Vietnam and maybe the seared-into-your-brain memory of a night or two spent somewhere around an area that looked like Cambodia. Somewhere out there, there is a short bus calling for John Kerry.
