It’s pretty telling that a show that originally aired during the Carter administration is equally applicable in an Obama world.

Jimmy Carter is meeting with Hamas this month.
The Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Tuesday that Carter was planning a trip to Syria for mid-April, during which he would meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled head of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, on April 18.
Maybe he’s on Meshal’s shortlist for VP candidates and just wants to talk strategy.
UPDATE:
Looks like the reception party has begun.
Palestinian militants burst into southern Israel and killed two Israeli fuel terminal workers Wednesday in a surprise attack that threatened to set off wider fighting.
…
Islamic Jihad and a smaller armed faction, the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for the raid at the Nahal Oz terminal, just across the border from Gaza.
…
The Popular Resistance Committees has close ties with Hamas.Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, praised the attack as “heroic and courageous.” He said Hamas was not responsible but affirmed his group’s support for “resistance.”
Allahu Carter.

In an unprecedented and historic pot-calling-the-kettle-black moment, Jimmuh Carter, the one-term President who presided over the energy crisis and stagflation, let dozens of Americans rot in the hands of islamofascists during the Iranian revolution and hostage crisis, and responded to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan by refusing to let Americans participate in gymnastics and the 100-yard dash, called President Bush the worst president evuh:
“I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history,” Carter told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette…
So how did the White House respond? In classic form:
“I think it’s sad that President Carter’s reckless personal criticism is out there,” Fratto told reporters. “I think it’s unfortunate. And I think he is proving to be increasingly irrelevant with these kinds of comments.”
Doesn’t Carter have some jew-hating to get back to?
UPDATE:
Mr. Peanut realizes his comments should’ve been aimed at the man in the mirror, then promptly backpedals. And he’s not even very good at that. He said his words were “maybe careless or misinterpreted.”
[Carter] said he wasn’t comparing the Bush administration with all those through American history.
And let’s look back at the words that were misinterpreted and not meant to compare the Bush adminstration with all those through American history:
“I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history.”

Is this what they mean by immediate withdrawal?
Jimmy Carter refuses to debate…
Al Gore refuses to debate…
Howard Dean refused to debate…
John Edwards refuses to debate…
Democrat Party refuses to debate…
Makes you wonder what they’re afraid of…

As if it weren’t bad enough that he wrote a book in support of Palestinian terrorists…
…it’s now being revealed that he interceded on behalf of a nazi SS guard who had been deported out of the U.S.
What’s next, Jimmy? A bake sale for the Klan?

Two days ago, Jimmy Carter was defending his pro-terrorist, fabricated work of plagiarism by claiming it was just intended to spark debate:
He said he chose the title to shine light on the festering conflict and give Americans a different point of view than what they’re used to.
“I wanted to provoke debate,” Carter said. “I wanted to provoke discussion.”
And Alan Dershowitz and Brandeis University stepped up to the challenge and offered Carter a forum to debate. So what was Carter’s response?
Carter, author of a new book advocating “peace not apartheid” in the region, said he will not visit Brandeis University to discuss the book because the university requested he debate Dershowitz.
So Carter wrote the book to spark debate, then refused to visit Brandeis because they requested a debate. I guess we really shouldn’t expect more from the peanut farmer.
The school’s debate request, Carter said, is proof that many in the United States are unwilling to hear an alternative view on the nation’s most taboo foreign policy issue, Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory.
No, the school’s debate request is proof they wanted to hear a debate, moron. But instead, Carter expects his drive-by punditry to serve as the definitive view on the topic without discussion or debate… typical liberal strategy.
So why is Carter afraid to debate and defend the positions in his book?

The idiots are coming out of the woodwork today. Maybe they’re inspired by the video released by al-Qaida.
“Terrorism is a manageable action. It can be lived with.”
Tell that to the people who work in the World Trade Center. Oh wait, you can’t…
The former president told a crowd of about 300 on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno today that the nation is more sharply divided that it has ever been as a result of Bush’s policies.
Well, let’s see, there are many who support the President and those who oppose him. Seems to me those who oppose his every step are the dividers. And it’s priceless that the most miserable failure of a President in history has any comment on making America an “international disgrace”.
“I am just totally focused on this November’s election, and I hope you are, too. I am fixated on taking back the House and the Senate because everything we care about is at stake.”
Like raising taxes, ending our fight against terrorists, launching a payback impeachment, etc, etc, etc.
…and the money quote from the Queen of the Obstructionist Party:
“If we take back one, hopefully both houses of Congress, we will be in a position to prevent the Republicans and the administration from furthering their agenda.”
That’s their primary goal. They have no agenda other than to oppose Republicans. Period.
Cigarette smoking is a “significant contributor to global warming!”
In DNC land, every night is a full moon.

[GQ]: One of the promises you made in 1976 was that if you were elected, you would look into the reports from Roswell and see if there had been any cover-ups. Did you look into that?
[Carter]: Well, in a way. I became more aware of what our intelligence services were doing. There was only one instance that I’ll talk about now. We had a plane go down in the Central African Republic, a twin-engine plane, small plane. And we couldn’t find it. And so we oriented satellites that were going around the earth every ninety minutes to fly over that spot where we thought it might be and take photographs. We couldn’t find it. So the director of the CIA came and told me that he had contacted a woman in California that claimed to have supernatural capabilities. And she went in a trance, and she wrote down latitudes and longitudes, and we sent our satellite over that latitude and longitude, and there was the plane.
[GQ]: That must have been surreal for you. You’re the president of the United States, and you’re getting intelligence information from a woman in a trance in California.
[Carter]: That’s exactly right.
“America is not at war. We’re not really at war with terrorists.”

Where were the calls for investigations when Bill Clinton was authorizing warrantless spying?
Where were they when Jimmy Carter was authorizing warrantless spying?
Liberals again proving they have one standard for their own and another standard for everyone else.
Update 3: It is interesting that all those folks who rejoiced in the Plame “scandal” are so silent about this story in which a classified program designed to track terrorists was leaked, in detail, to the press. A program which most in the legal community are saying is completely within the government’s legal authority to conduct.

“The Bush Administration’s prewar claims that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction were manipulated, at least to mislead the American people.”
“We want Saddam Hussein to disarm but we want to achieve this through peaceful means. He obviously has the capability and desire to build prohibited weapons and probably has some hidden in his country.”
