Now that the Obama administration is playing kabuki theater with Iran, it seems like the appropriate time to revive a post I made back on January 13, 2006 questioning the credibility of Democrats on dealing with a nuclear ambitious, Islamic tyrant playing games with the United Nations. Take note of the very last line of the post….

Again we have a nuclear ambitious, Islamic tyrant playing games with the United Nations. And the Democrats are acting the same way they did towards Iraq prior to the war.

Senator John Kerry (D-MA)

“Iran has made a dangerous and silly decision of confronting not just the U.S. government but the entire international community.”

Tom Lantos (D-CA)

“Iran is hell-bent on developing nuclear weapons”

“European governments should make clear to Iran that there can’t be business as usual as long as Ahmadinejad, or others who espouse his radical views, hold high office … the U.S. needs to press for stiff multilateral sanctions aimed at stopping Iran’s nuclear program … there still are measures the U.S. can take alone to increase pressure on Tehran…”

“Iran has reportedly been working to develop [WMDs]. A nuclear-armed Iran is an unacceptable risk to us and our allies… We must show determined leadership to … prevent the development of nuclear weapons in places like Iran.”

But remember, we were hearing this sort of talk from Democrats with respect to Iraq long before the war.

John Kerry (Jan. 23, 2003)

“Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime … He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation … And now he is miscalculating America’s response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction … So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real…”

Bill Clinton (Feb. 4, 1998)

“One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line.”

Madelaine Albright (Feb. 1, 1998)

“We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction.”

Sandy Bergler (Feb. 18, 1998)

“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.”

Nancy Pelosi (Dec. 16, 1998)

“Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.”

Ted Kennedy (Sept. 27, 2002)

“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.”

So we’re justified in asking whether they’re serious today. Afterall, it is reasonable to assume that should the situation with Iran escalate, through the lack of cooperation of Iran itself (like it did with Iraq), Democrats will march hand-in-hand with the anti-war protestors again trying to score cheap political points against Bush… of course, not until after voting to authorize military action, to be sure.

But this is why all this political gamesmanship on Iraq creates a serious problem for our country. The Democrats have now delivered an ambigious message to the world. First, we’ll talk tough and alert the world to the dangers of Iran, then we’ll march around the world calling our President a “liar“, “thug“, “criminal“, “terrorist” and more claiming he made the whole thing up to justify the war.

So the first half of the game with Iran is playing out the same way it did with Iraq. Why should we expect a second half to be any different?

Democrats can’t expect to be taken serious on the subject anymore. And that puts America in a dangerous position if they ever regain power.

Democrats, salivating over the prospect of having complete, unchecked control in Washington are starting to reveal the plans they have in store for America… and it doesn’t look good.

First, John Kerry wants a “New Deal 2“. While Republicans are pressing to give money back to those who earned it, Democrats are looking to take your money (confiscated throught taxes) and go on a wild spending spree of new social programs and government handouts. Just wait until they decide that $250k isn’t the line measuring who is “rich” but rather that the line should be drawn somewhere around $100k… or maybe $50k… it’s what they’ll have to do in order to pay for their cradle-to-grave government policies.

Then there’s Barney Frank, one of the perpetrators of the financial meltdown, who is saying that the unprecedented $700 billion bailout package was just the tip of the Democrat iceberg that they plan to ram into the bow of the American economy. He supports Obama’s plan to spread your wealth to others. And he says that if Republicans in the House don’t get on board in the next few months, they’ll just wait ‘em out and launch an even bigger spending spree on the American public when they take full control of the government in January.

Oh, and while the Democrats are proposing to increase the size of the nanny state, they’re proposing to slash the military.

So I guess when the generated international crisis shows up to test the mettle of the inexperienced Barack Obama, we better hope it has to do with social security and not homeland security.

We can protect against this idiocy by electing Republicans up and down the ticket in every state. Democrats will still most likely maintain both houses of Congress, but if they take enough seats in the Senate and Obama takes the White House, there will be zero check on their power. Every idiotic, socialistic, spread-the-wealth, anti-military, tree-hugging policy will become law. And Barack Obama would also have a rubber stamp for any lifetime Supreme Court nominations he chooses.

At the same time Democrats are admitting that the government can’t do anything right, they plan to give it more power, more control, more of your hard-earned money to blow.

At a time when the Congressional approval rating is at a historic low, they’re asking you to give them the ability to implement more of their bad policies unilaterally.

Think about it.

In light of the current Democrat-endorsed election fraud scandals brewing, I thought it was the right time to repost my experience as a member of the 72 Hour Legal Task Force during the 2004 election, where I witnessed, firsthand, Democrats’ efforts to steal an election.

I take special pride in this week’s election results because I was a foot soldier in enemy territory for the battle. Along with several hundred very anxious and very capable attorneys, I went into Northeast Philadelphia as a “Lawyer For Bush”. For those of you who don’t know what that means, imagine yourself strapping on 50 pounds of red meat and jumping into shark-infested waters… or worse, imagine covering yourself in twinkies and cookie dough and entering Michael Moore’s house.

I spent the final 72 hours of the 2004 campaign season in Philadelphia. Pushing my way through Kerry supporters in front of our Headquarters in downtown Philly, I was amazed at the animosity in their voices. Walking anywhere downtown, one would see gatherings of 10 - 20 Kerry supporters at many intersections holding up signs and cars honking their praise. I certainly felt like I was behind enemy lines. Being bombarded with this every waking minute was enough to make me really question whether I was on the winning team. Not that I would’ve changed sides for anything, I did feel a sense of envy with those Democrats who seemed to have all the momentum in the world. My optimism only grew weaker on election day as I took on the task I had traveled across the country to perform.

Our task was to monitor a certain set of precincts around Philadelphia to insure a fair election process. From what I had been told going in, Philadelphia was a bastion of voting fraud. The Democrat infrastructure I personally witnessed left me feeling less than confident in our electoral process.

Each side is allowed to have “Poll Watchers” inside the polling place to monitor the situation. Unfortunately, it seems Philadelphia was about 99.9% Democrat, so the RNC folks apparently dragged dollar bills through the streets to hire poll watchers. Needless to say, this didn’t seem to help our cause much.

Some of our poll watchers showed up late or generally just “didn’t get it”. They were there for the money and that was it. A few poll watchers were on the ball, and happened to catch the opening of the voting machines that magically already had votes for Kerry on them. Given that our poll watchers were probably only able to see about 10% of all machines before the polls opened, I can only imagine how many “Kerry votes” were present across the city and states before the polls even opened on Tuesday.

Apart from generally monitoring the process and preventing major issues, the Poll Watchers had a primary job. Here’s where the fun began.

There were roughly 100,000 new voter registrations in Philadelphia alone. When the RNC received the list of new registrants, they promptly sent out brochures, welcoming them to the process and promoting Republican candidates. Soon, some of those brochures began coming back with notations like “deceased” or “vacant lot” or “abandoned warehouse” on them. In all, returned mailings totaled around 10,000. That’s 10,000 registrations that appeared to be fraudulent.

We compiled a list of those questionable registrations and gave them to our Poll Watchers. Their duty was to watch for folks trying to vote using those registrations and challenge the voter to provide ID and otherwise verify they were legitimate.

It wasn’t long before I had my first encounter with a “Kerry lawyer” (as he called himself). I noticed him walking in and out of the polling place all morning (a criminal offense to do so without proper certification). He approached one of my Poll Watchers and took the list out of his hand and then returned outside. He then declared, as if he was making a proclamation before the United Nations, that me and my “Republican thugs” were using this list to “intimidate black voters” and “suppress the minority vote”.

He obviously did not want us using the list, because it would expose the fraudulent registrations they were banking on for votes.

Now keep in mind, other than the “Kerry lawyer”, I was the only other white guy standing around this polling place on election day. Throughout the day there was, on average, 50 - 100 people just hanging around this location (it was a youth gym that seemed to be a popular hangout). As he would proclaim my attempts at disenfranchisement, it would stir up the crowd and I would hear the anger boiling inside them.

Then his assistant whipped out a video camera and shoved it in my face. (I’m guessing Democrat lawyers are in some cave somewhere analyzing the video today trying to figure out how they can allege something against me to somehow make up for a resounding defeat of their candidate - good luck, guys) This guy stood in front of the polling place videotaping for 10 minutes. This is a tactic the Democrats allege Republicans do to intimidate voters. Of course, it came as no surprise to me that a Democrat would do the very act he accused Republicans of.

The Federal Elections Commission “dark suits” swooped in to settle some issues, the District Attorney’s office sent staff, the Philadelphia police department got involved on a half dozen occasions and at the end of the night I took down the final vote tallies: Kerry - 1,131 Bush - 3

This was only one of my precincts. In another precinct, I personally witnessed the Democrat Election Judge allowing voters to cast provisional ballots and then walking over to the voting machine to cast real ballots. This would allow that voter’s vote to be counted twice if the outcome required the counting of the provisional ballots.

When I returned to this polling place, I noticed my Poll Watcher standing outside handing out DEMOCRAT brochures. I asked her why she was doing that and she said the Election Judge (Democrat) had ordered her to do it. Unbelievable

I did feel a sense of defeat at the end of the night, having spent the day in “democrat country” fighting to keep the election process fair and honest. Seeing the results posted on the door, I wondered quietly, “how can Bush pull this thing off?”

We headed over to Arlen Specter’s party and awaited the results. By the time we arrived, many east coast states had already been called and there seemed to be no big surprises. But there was a glimmer of hope… the popular vote was showing Bush with a decent lead. Then Florida starting showing signs of red. Suddenly the fatigue began wearing off and was being replaced with total and complete joy. Could this work have paid off? Could we really be on the winning side? It was interesting to see older women in formal dresses screaming at the top of their lungs “come on Wolf, would you f–king call Florida already!!!??!!?” The tide was shifting.

Now we all know the results. And while we weren’t able to deliver Pennsylvania, one thing I keep hearing from folks I served with is this: We kept Pennsylvania close requiring the Democrats to expend resources therein… resources that may have otherwise gone to Ohio and changed the overall results.

I’m glad I was there to see it from the inside. I’m happy our side was vindicated against all the vitriol, false accusations, fraud and hate. The sun sure seems to be shining brighter today.

Here’s another example of why Democrats can’t be trusted on… well, anything.

John Kerry is on the campaign trail trying to sell the benefits of candidate Barack Obama by attacking Obama’s opponent as “dangerous“…

For his part, Kerry was deeply critical of presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. “He doesn’t get it,” Kerry said. “He’s even dangerous, I think, for the direction of this country.”

What makes this statement so ridiculous is the fact that this “dangerous” guy was courted by John Kerry himself as a running mate just 4 years ago.

John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, has repeatedly and personally asked Senator John McCain, the independent-minded Arizona Republican, to consider being his running mate, but Mr. McCain has refused, people who have spoken to both men said Friday.

Mr. Kerry, the Massachusetts senator, made his first direct overtures to Mr. McCain about three weeks after locking up the Democratic nomination in March and approached him again, in person or by telephone, as many as seven times, as recently as last week, according to one person who has discussed the issue with both.

So if we’re to believe John Kerry, he’s either slandering a man he thought was qualified to lead this country not so long ago to score political points for his party in the current campaign…

…or he’s admitting that he wanted a running mate who was “dangerous” for the direction of this country.

Either way, his word appears to be about as good as a Clinton wedding vow.

Democrats and their Phoney Victims
October 10th, 2007 9:02 am

Everytime Democrats want to implement bad policy, they have to trot out some phoney victim to make their case. Whether it’s opposition to the war using phoney soldiers, or using kids, elderly or poor people (who aren’t quite the victims the Democrats paint them to be) to peddle government-run healthcare.

In 1996, Hillary Clinton propped up young Jennifer Bush, a seven-year-old with mystery ailments whose mother coached her to lobby for universal health care Jennifer was trotted out to present the Clintons a lucky silver dollar “to bring you good luck so everyone can have good insurance.” Jennifer’s mother was later convicted of aggravated child abuse and welfare fraud for misrepresenting $60,000 in assets on Medicaid forms.

In 2000, Al Gore propped up elderly widow Winifred Skinner to lambaste high drug prices. Gore repeated her claim that she had to pick up cans on the side of the road to pay for medicine. Dan Rather bemoaned: “She’s no child, but she belongs on a poster about high drug costs.” One problem: Winifred’s own well-to-do son, businessman Earl King, debunked those claims.

In 2004, John Kerry propped up Mary Ann Knowles, a breast cancer patient who he claimed “had to keep working day after day right through her chemotherapy, no matter how sick she felt, because she was terrified of losing her family’s health insurance?” The conservative Manchester Union Leader editorial page reported: “Knowles chose to work through most, but not all, of her chemotherapy because her husband was out of a job…She and husband John did not want to take the pay cut that would have come with disability leave, so Mary Ann kept working.”

Democrats have to sell their policies on emotion… they won’t get any traction otherwise. But in this day and age of instant access to information and the ability for average citizens to easily disseminate the facts to a large audience, that tactic just ain’t gonna cut it anymore.

It’s downright hilarious to see Democrats trying to simultaneously play the “Bush is a moron” and “Bush duped me” angles.

Seriously, if he’s as dumb as they claim… yet he’s been one-upping them at every turn, what’s that actually say about them?

The latest is Chuck Schumer, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee and heads the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, referring to the confirmation of Justices Alito and Roberts:

“There is no doubt that we were hoodwinked.”

Nevermind the threats of filibusters and unprecedented theatrical presentations on the Senate floor during the confirmation hearings of both men… no, Chuckie was still hoodwinked.

And in 2006, it was John Rockefeller of West Virginia, the lead Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee who was “duped”.

In 2005, co-president for 8 years and 2008 Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was “misled”.

And back in 2004, Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry was “misled” too.

If I were a Democrat, I’d be embarrassed as hell that such a moron has been so successful at misleading, duping and hoodwinking the collection of self-absorbed geniuses that represent me.

Democrats ARE Weak on Defense
February 16th, 2007 12:02 pm

In 2004, John Kerry touted his “global test“, one that suggested the U.S. should not take military action unless we had “irrefutable evidence” linking a regime to a terrorist act (note that this means we have to wait to be attacked before acting), and then even if we did act, it should be “in proportion” to that act (is he suggesting we hijack some Air Afghanistan flights and crash them into buildings in Kabul?)

And now comes the likely 2008 Democrat presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, touting a familiar policy.

“We have all learned lessons from the conflict in Iraq, and we have to apply those lessons to any allegations that are being raised about Iran. Because, Mr. President, what we are hearing has too familiar a ring and we must be on guard that we never again make decisions on the basis of intelligence that turns out to be faulty.”

So I guess if intelligence shows that Iran has a nuclear weapon and intelligence shows that the nuke is pointed at the U.S. and intelligence shows that nuke can actually reach the U.S…. we should not act until that nuke has impacted the soil inside the U.S., at which point the intelligence becomes “irrefutable” and assures us it won’t “turn out to be faulty”.

Democrats are experts at governing in hindsight. It is 20/20 afterall.

Note to terrorist regimes… when a Democrat becomes President, we’ll no longer worry about you until you attack us… and even when you attack us, be sure to cover some tracks so as to raise some questions, then you can be assured we won’t respond.

I feel safe now.

John Kerry’s Stuk in Irak Tour
December 26th, 2006 11:38 pm

A picture is worth 1000 words.

Here’s the email that accompanied the photo:

“This is a true story…..Check out this photo from our mess hall at the US Embassy yesterday morning. Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here. He cancelled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are obviously not troops.

What is amazing is Bill O’Reilly came to visit with us and the troops at the CSH the same day and the line for autographs extended through the palace and people waited for two hours to shake his hand. You decide who is more respected and loved by us servicemen and women!”

It’s not a coincidence that he gets a better reception when meeting with enemy leaders of the U.S.

So Much For That Apology…
November 3rd, 2006 4:05 pm

John Kerry shows us that his apology was completely hollow and that his comments about the military being dumb and lazy weren’t really a botched joke afterall. Why else would his campaign website have this on the front page?

Click for larger image

This isn’t just a simple case of software picking up a feed with keywords, as the image above shows Kerry’s people took the time to design the torn paper image of the key part of the editorial.

It’s a link to this editorial from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer entitled:

Kerry’s Remark: Right either way

Republicans evidenced their election desperation by braying about an offhand comment that Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., made at a California college rally.

“Education” Kerry said “– if you make the most of it and you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Was Kerry making fun of the president, or warning students against the pitfalls awaiting the undereducated in general?

It doesn’t matter. Kerry was right either way.

So much for that apology.

For what it’s worth, that editorial is full of misinformation, perpetuating the myth of the “poor, dumb soldier”.

Although there are plenty of well-educated people in our armed forces — Kerry was one of them — military service has long been an opportunity employer for those with less education and fewer skills than they need to work in the private sector. Indeed, the military sells itself as a place to garner skills and to help pay for higher education.

I’ll remind the editorial staff at SP-I and John Kerry, himself about this study:

According to a comprehensive study of all enlistees for the years 1998-99 and 2003 that The Heritage Foundation just released, the typical recruit in the all-volunteer force is wealthier, more educated and more rural than the average 18- to 24-year-old citizen is. Indeed, for every two recruits coming from the poorest neighborhoods, there are three recruits coming from the richest neighborhoods.

If, for example, we consider the education of every recruit, 98% joined with high-school diplomas or better. By comparison, 75% of the general population meets that standard. Among all three-digit ZIP code areas in the USA in 2003 (one can study larger areas by isolating just the first three digits of ZIP codes), not one had a higher graduation rate among civilians than among its recruits.

Regardless, either way, John Kerry is an elitist, military-hating ass.
